The motto of the gang is "You're in until you die". And when 19 year old member of the gang - Young Mob, Orentheal Childs wanted out the Atlanta teen was shot 15 times and left him for dead.
He started crawling and moaning and was helped to the hospital by people who are now in protective custody. He has undergone surgery and is alert and talking.
Agents with the U.S. Marshals Counter Gang Unit and Atlanta Police
have arrested two people in the shooting, including a 16-year-old and
19-year-old Farrakmad Muhammad Price, who they say was found Tuesday
hiding in Tennessee.
In the words of U.S. Marshal, Eric Heinz, he said:
"(He) told the other members of the gang,
'Hey, look, I want to go straight, be law-abiding,' and they weren't
happy with it."
And in the words of a relative, he said:
"I think he's strong and he's a survivor," said the relative, who asked not to be identified.
"My message is change before it's too late. Because the same way they did him, somebody could do them".
