JANITOR GETS 20 YEARS TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR HAVING SEX WITH A 12 YEAR-OLD STUDENT!

Ambiorix Ridriguex, a former school janitor was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years to life in prison for repeatedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl in the school's basement. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Sheryl Parker handed out the punishment for multiple counts, including predatory sexual assault against a child and rape.

"The defendant repeatedly took advantage of a 12-year-old girl in a place — her school — that should be a safe haven," said Parker, who could have given Rodriguez 80 years, but chose to run the sentences concurrently.

The abuse took place from September 2009 until early 2010, when Rodriguez worked at Middle School for Marketing and Legal Studies in East Flatbush. The sex was not forcible, the now-16-year-old girl testified at trial, but it was still criminal given the girl’s age.

At the sentencing, the prosecutor read a letter from the girl’s guardian.

"How could you possibly think that what you have done was okay?...She was, and still is, a child."
