Bishop David Oyedepo |
Vwamhi Longji Felix, a 400 level student of Communication Technology at the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state who was expelled for being in possession of pornographic materials in the hostel after a night raid by the Student Affair' Unit, has sued
the Bishop David Oyedepo owned institution to court.
At the resumed hearing of the matter yesterday, the prosecuting counsel Segun Fatoki, told the court that Felix was allegedly expelled without an opportunity of a proper hearing or viewing the evidence in accordance with the standard practice as guaranteed by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999...He also claimed that his expulsion was a violation of Section 44 of Chapter 4 of the student Handbook of the Covenant University.
But, the school in its counter affidavit stated that in the school hand book it was noted that students are not allowed to be in possession of unholy films and home video or circular music tapes, either stored or directly in the computer or listen through the use of computer radio or any other electronic device when on campus during an academic session...the school also claimed that it is an offence that will attract punishment of expulsion for any student who indulges himself or herself in public display of or be in possession of pornographic films or photographs, exploring or viewing pornographic websites on the internet.
And after listening to both parties, Justice Mobolaji Ojo of Ogun State High Court said they should allow every individual to grow life that they need to live adding that if at age 15 to 17 they don’t live that life, they would live it when they are 30 to 35 because of too much rules. “A youth must live like a youth and an adolescent must live like an adolescent. If all of the traits of a youth are not allowed to be exhibited at the right time, it would be done at the wrong time,” Vanguard quoted him as saying. The case was adjourned till March 27, 2013.

ReplyDeleteFor crying out loud! How long will nigerianss understand sipmle english and learn how to abide with rules and regulations, the owner of the school has already laid his rules before any students cld be admitted and an undertaking was signed by the students and their parents in agreement to abide with the school rules and regulations. So why going against what u already know its consequence? Then be ready to serve the punishement as stated in the handbk shikena! This indiscipline is what lead nigeria and nigerians to the state they are today that they have no good reputition outside their country. They are known to always practice whatever the government pronounced as prohibition or illegal act. Good examples: their governors; ibori ad co ltd. And they still did not do anything wrong? Sure they started their rebellious and stealing acts right from schl aswell. No wonder nigerians 're known and seen as crooks, thugs, and law violator people all over the world. C'est vraiement bien de votre parts. More grease nigerians!
ReplyDeleteSame me up there again. If the judge cld speak or understand french, I wldnt mind to advocate for the bishop and the schl. I'll take care of my flight ticket. Becos some people out there with their thick skulls and shallow brain need to be washed and bleached. If you can not abide with the rules of a school then don't attempt to go there in the first place instead of ruining your career and reputation. There 're other schools out there who allows all sorts, even nude parties and cultisim 's allowed there, even in this country of mine. The choice is simply urs.
DeleteInfact, if the school was to be mine, I would sue the student for 9.9990009 euro I'll sue for violating my law. See ur face!

ReplyDeleteLocal country clubs are offering trivia fun for as
little as forty dollars per couple. The decline of
the East side blues scene was disheartening, but,
it also gave rise to the need for a fresh start, which came
in the form of the next blues-only venue, Antone's, founded by the late Clifford Antone, during the summer of 1975.
