According to Ed Klein in his new BioGraphy where he wrote that, Mr. and Mrs. Obama were at odds after the election for Chicago House of Representatives. Barack did not win the election though warned in advance by his wife. The strain that the election and the aftermath placed on Barack and Michelle's marriage was said to be significant enough to break their bond. BUT, the story may or may not be true.
President Obama's Rep' Eric Schultz released a statement saying,
"Ed Klein has a proven history of reckless fabrication in order to sell books. Nobody in their right mind would believe the nonsense in this one."
