Hajiya Fatima Al-Mustapha Nguru the 67 year old mother of Major Al'Mustapha is dead and just like Gen. Buhari was not allowed to attend his Mother's burial after gen. Babangida took over govt, Al"Mustapha will miss his mother's burial.
She passed away at a hospital in Kano on Wednesday at the age of 67 after a protracted illness.
Funeral prayer was held at the family residence on Lamido Crescent area of Kano metropolis after which she was buried at Kofar Mazugal cemetery in Kano city at around 5:30pm. She was survived by 10 children including Major-General Al-Mustapha and other relatives.
Close family sources blamed her death on “accumulated emotional problems which had continued to worsen” since her son, Al-Mustapha, was imprisoned more than 13 years ago.
Al'Mustapha's appeal of his death sentence handed him because of his suspected complicity in the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, wife of Chief M.K.O. Abiola, presumed winner of the June 12 1993 presidential election in Nigeria.
RIP Hajiya Fatima.
