37 KILLED IN SATURDAY'S RELIGIOUS VIOLENCE IN JOS - NIGERIA


A Jos resident at the grave of a loved one lost to religious violence in Plateau

Military spokesman Mustapha Salisu said Sunday that: 
"Assailants launched "sophisticated attacks" on villages near Jos early Saturday. Salisu said police and the army fought back for hours. He said two policemen, 14 civilians and 21 assailants were killed..." 37 people so far have been killed in the Christian villages near Jos city that has seen religious violence in the past.
The Nigerian Red Cross said over 100 people have been displaced so far.
A Christian Advocacy Group spokesperson Mark Lipdo gave a list of 13 Christian villages attacked so far.
