After A judge has issued an arrest order for legendary pro wrestler Ric Flair after the Nature Boy reportedly failed to pay his estranged wife more than $32,000 in spousal support, though he can avoid jail and continue to be a limousine riding, jet plane flying, kiss-stealing son of a gun if he pays what he owes. The 21-time World Champion had been ordered to pay $4,000 a month to Jacqueline Beems after she filed for legal separation last summer. Flair was quick to offer up reasoning as to why the owed payments have piled up, and it’s impossible not to feel for the guy. “The reason I didn’t pay my ex-wife the 32 grand is because my son died and I was in the hospital for a month,” Flair said. “I was in the hospital for a month with a blood clot. I didn’t go to work for three months.” Flair said he plans to make the payment to Beems today.
As customary with anything involving Ric Flair and a girlfriend or ex-wife, that’s not where it ends. According to the Charlotte Observer, Beems was charged on Tuesday with making a harassing phone call to Flair’s girlfriend and turned herself in to authorities. She was released on a $500 unsecured bond and will square off with Flair in a ladder match this Saturday night.
