In a statement, the British High Commission said: A British national has been kidnapped just after leaving the international terminal of Lagos airport, it also added that, it was “working closely with others to secure the release of the hostage”. It added that no more detail could be provided at this stage due to the “sensitive nature” of the incident. A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said:“We are aware of reports of a missing person and are liaising with Nigerian authorities.”
