"A Girl is Matured and Ready For Marriage, Once She Starts Menstruating" - Senator Yerima

Controversial Nigerian Senator, Senator Yerima who is at the center of Nigeria's Child Marriage controversy, while speaking on AIT this morning said, "A Girl is deemed to be ready for marriage when she starts mentsruating"


Senator Yerima went on to back himself with the fact that he married his first wife at the age of 16 and now she's a healthy mother of ten...one of his wives who he married at 15 is now a medical doctor plus his children are all graduates. He also said that the VVF scourge was basically because of lack of appropriate health care and not as a result of "early marriage".
