Around 30,000 Libyan, Pro-US demonstrators, stormed the headquarters of the Islamist Ansar al-Sharia militia in the Libyan city of Benghazi today with the sole purpose of evicting fighters from the site. They besieged the place and set the building housing them on fire. The fighters have been alleged to be behind the killing of the US ambassador to libya. the Ansar al-Sharia refused to lay down their weapons after joining others to hunt down the Qaddaffi Govt, but have been tormenting Libyans in recent times.
The placards they carried read
“The ambassador was Libya’s friend”
“Libya lost a friend.”
