WHY ITALIAN GIANTS, JUVENTUS MIGHT GRAB VAN PERSIE AHEAD OF MANCITY FROM ARSENAL

Italian giants Juventus have said they are prepared to smash their wage ceiling to win the race to sign Arsenla's captain and English Premiership's current highest goal scorer Robin van Persie.

The Italian giants are in the running with Manchester to land the Arsenal star, who signalled his desire to leave north London on Wednesday by confirming he will not sign a new deal. With manchestercity not willing to break their record signing ceilin to acquire the Dutch, it's obvious Juventus might win eventually.

Given their financial clout, Manchester City are viewed as favourites to sign the 28-year-old Holland international this summer.

Former arsenal player and Van Persie’s former team-mate Kolo Toure has urged the striker to become the latest Gunner —after Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Adebayor and Toure — to leave the Emirates for the Etihad.
In Toure's words:

‘Robin is a top player. I’ve played with him, I know him and he’s a great man,’ Toure told the Manchester Evening News.
