75 percent of American men live with untreated erectile dysfunction. According to the
American Urological Association Erectile dysfunction affects 15 to 30 million American men (with the last population (2009) figure of men in America put at 151.4 million, then we are looking at a minimum of 1 in every 10) and is
easily treatable. Previous research had also found that few men actually
seek treatment after being diagnosed with the condition.
The latest study -- the largest of its kind -- included 6.2 million men
diagnosed with erectile dysfunction over a 12-month period from June
2010 to June 2011. Researchers found that only 25.4 percent of patients
filled their prescriptions for ED medications such as Viagra or Cialis.
