And He Stabbed Her With a Broken Bottle for Dumping Him!

23-year-old Olaide Salami who resides in Ajegunle area of Lagos was arraigned in a Lagos magistrate court for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Monisola Adedoyin who dumped him with a broken bottle. He was charged over a 3 count charge of assault, stealing and conspiracy the offences occurred on Oct. 28, 2013 at No. 25, Adeyemi St., Ajegunle.

According to the police, “Salami started harassing the complainant because she said she was no longer interested in their relationship, Adedoyin said that the accused came to her house with some of his friends and started assaulting her and when even Adedoyin’s mother tried to resolve the dispute, the accused also assaulted her they were also accused of stealing Monisola's phone and N30,000. Charges which Olaide pleaded not guilty to.

The prosecutor explained that the offences contravened Sections 171, 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, adjourned the case till Sept., 29 and granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000, with one surety in like sum.
