Having Problems Downloading the iOS 7? Read This!

When  Apple released its operating system update at around 18.00 GMT yesterday it did not envisage that thousands of Apple customers would immediately take to social media complaining that they were unable to download the software.
reports of the update stoping half way through and  error message saying: "Software Update Failed." Others said they could connect to the iTunes Store to update apps. Even after downloading the iOS 7 update, many found they were not able to install it, and were greeted with the message: "Software Update is unavailable at this time". Apple's services page stated that all its various services were up and running.

Users also need to have lots of free space available for the downloaded update to install, which can top 3GB in some cases. Tests carried out by Ars Technica also noted that iOS 7 has a significant impact on the battery life of certain handsets during its review of the software.
The worst affected was the iPhone 5, which dropped from 661 minutes battery life on iOS 6 to 444 minutes with iOS 7.
The iOS 7 update is larger than most over-the-air updates Apple has put out in the past. It can range from around 600MB for older iPhone and iPad users up to 935MB for users on Apple's fourth-generation iPad, according to CNET.
OS 7 was announced at Apple's annual developers’ conference back in June where chief executive Tim Cook hailed it as “the biggest change to iOS since the iPhone”.
Among the major changes is a redesigned interface which has icons appearing flatter and text sharper. There will also be a new "control centre", accessed by swiping a finger from the bottom of the screen, where customers can turn on WiFi and change volume and brightness settings.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, said downloading iOS 7 will be "like getting a brand new device, but one that will still be instantly familiar to our users."
Other new features include iTunes Radio (a free internet radio service featuring over 200 stations), a torch setting for the iPhone and changes to Siri.
