After Civilian JTF members arrested two Boko haram members and handed them over to the police, two of the civilian JTF members took a different route and on their way were accosted by a policeman...their explanations fell on deaf ears as the policeman shot one of the men straight in the eye, killing him instantly.
This made the members of the civilian JTF take to the streets to protest. Borno state Governor quickly met them and promised to attend the member's burial personally and give the family of the deceased 3.5 million naira and a house while promising that justice will be done to the policeman who shot the man.
