Nigeria's Director of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Dr. Wale Salami has hinted that, About 300,000 persons have been infected with the deadly HIV virus in Nigeria since the beginning of 2012.
He further added that, only 360,000 out of about 3.1 million Nigerians living with the
deadly disease have access to treatment while about 1.5 million
Nigerians infected with the virus require treatment. He made this known while speaking on the efforts of the organisation to
mobilise community action to expand and meet the needs of infected
persons in commemoration of the 2012 World AIDS Day scheduled for
December 1. With less than 20 percent of
Nigerians who have conducted HIV/AIDS test...Nigeria with 3.1 million persons living with the disease, still ranks as the second highest with infections of
HIV/AIDS after South Africa.
