Boko Haram Attack Rumour Cause Panic in Islamic College, 13 Students Injured!

A rumoured attack by Boko haram militants caused panic in an Islamic college causing bodily injuries to 13 students of the college. According to the Provost of the College (A. D. Rufa’i College for Legal and Islamic Studies, Misau, Bauchi State), Dr Mustapha Isa Qasim, “What actually happened was that there was a robbery going on at about 11 o’clock on the night of March 10, at a point between Misau town and Kari. Soldiers on patrol received distress calls which forced them to rush to the spot where the robbery occurred. They exchanged gunfire with the robbers as the soldiers tried to clear the road... Sounds of gunshots from the exchange between the soldiers and the robbers on that road caused panic not only in the Islamic College but also in Misau town, forcing our students to scamper to safety out of fear.... Thirteen students sustained injuries as they tried to escape from the school out of fear”.
The head of the Islamic College said after the road was cleared, the soldiers went to the institution and assured both management and students that they dispersed the robbers and that there were no gunmen attempting to attack the school as was being speculated.
