Leaked Conversation Reveals Turkish Airlines Ship Arms to Boko Haram and Others in Nigeria?

A tape posted on YouTube revealed an assistant executive of Turkish Airlines, Mehmet Karatas telling Mustafa Varank, an advisor to Erdogan, that he feels guilty over the national flag carrier’s arms shipment to Nigeria. In his words he was quoted as saying, “I do not know whether these (weapons) will kill Muslims or Christians. I feel sinful.” But, Turkey’s national carrier, Turkish Airlines had denied the allegations. Their official statement reads:
“Turkish Airlines, in accordance with company policy, does not ship arms to countries where there is a power vacuum or conflict... There have been no arms shipments from Turkey to (Nigeria).”

Turkish airline is 49 percent state-owned. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been hit by a corruption probe ensnaring his key allies and a widening phone-tapping scandal.
