Controversial 57-year-Old Nigerian boxing legend, Bash Ali, fought his way through President Goodluck's Security detail to see the President at the Abuja National Stadium to inaugurate ‘Rhythm ‘N’ Play on Thursday. This got the attention of the President who after allowing him to state his mission directed the boxer see the Minister of Sports for further discussion on the matter. But when he attempted to see the minister, it was another kettle of fish as policemen attached to the minister did not allow him to see the minister in Abuja on Thursday June 6th. Bash Ali said:
“There is no respect in this country for the people who should be respected,” Ali fumed. “How can I, when all I am trying to do is lift up my country’s name, be assaulted by a bunch of scoundrels all in the name of protecting their master? I was already a world champion when they were in primary school.”
