The father of the 23 year old student who died after being raped that caused protests in all of India has finally revealed her identity. Her name was Jyoti Singh Pandey and he claims that he did so in order to provide some type of courage to women who have survived these type of brutal attacks. His daughter died a couple days after being raped and beaten by a mob, they had inserted a metal rod into her that caused internal damage. Her death caused protests in women’s rights.
This is against India's law which is against naming victims of sex crimes. India police has already sued ZEE for interviewing the victim's partner which they claim could lead to identifying the victim.
