Explosions and gunfire rocked restive city of Damaturu, Kano state was rocked by explosions and gunfire on Friday, 06/7/2012...the shootings and exxplosions lasted over two hours according to residents of the affected area.

Gbadegeshin Toyin, Police spokeswoman said: 

“There have been huge explosions and sporadic gunfire around (the) Shagari Low Cost area of the city, in Yobe state of which Damaturu is the capital.

“We still don’t have details of what is going on but we have alerted our men to confront any eventuality,”

Damaturu is near Boko Haram’s base of Maiduguri, is under curfew, with residents forced to be in their homes from dusk to dawn following running clashes between troops and Islamists last month.

Residents are now stranded in their homes due to the dusk to dawn curfew imposed in Damaturu by the Yobe state government.

You might be aware your family have a tradition to marry someone with addiction problems, or who is an injured bird in need of caretaking. But Most of us are looking for someone to fill up your empty bucket, give us some kind of direction, or give our lives a meaning. We make the wrong choices when we're not working at having our own life plan and figuring out how to live our own life, but someone else's!

8. Self-love? 

This sounds like number 7? c'mon wait till you read this. it's "the truth" low self esteem comes from our inability to love our own selves but claiming to want to love others...this indirectly breeds self esteem which tends to make us vulnerable! And our choices when we have this kind of mindseet? a disaster!!! Yeah, yeah, i just did what i promised not to, repeat noumber 7...i did this because self love is so important that i have to repeat this step!

9. Rebelling against family patterns: 

If your dad was a tyrant, you may be drawn to someone who is so passive and voiceless that the same qualities that attracted you will later drive you crazy. When we need to push the differences with family members -- or with an ex-spouse, for that matter -- we land in trouble.

10. Desperation: 

This is more of a female part of the top10...remember how women go, "my two best friends just got married, you're about to turn how old? and someone reminds you that your biological clock is ticking. As the "tick tock" gets louder, you compromise on something that really matters, or you ignore the big red flags waving in your face. half a loaf is better than none is the most stupid phrase ever created - we were not created to opt for half values...we were created for the best!

Wednesday 50 year old Pastor Gordon Solomon A local spiritual leader shocked and devastated his congregation when he was arrested for allegedly engaging in a two-year sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

The Police said:

The relationship between Gordon Solomon, pastor at Christ's Community Church of LA in Inglewood, Calif., and his young congregant began when the girl was only 12 years old.

He was alleged to have "developed an ongoing affinity" for the girl, which involved exchanging emails and texts of a "sexual nature" and meeting at various locations, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

He met his waterloo when the young girl's mother discovered one of the explicit text messages from Solomon and immediately called the police. Investigators then determined that the relationship had been going on for two years by tracing back the sexting messages on the girl's phone.

The minister has been charged Friday with seven felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child, one felony count of oral copulation of a person under the age of 14 and one felony count of continuous sexual abuse, the District Attorney announced.

If convicted as charged, Solomon who is currently in jail on $3 million bail, faces a maximum sentence of 26 years and eight month in state prison, the District Attorney says. He is expected to make his initial court appearance Friday at the Inglewood Courthouse.

Why a happily married man with a beautiful family would do this kind of act remains a mystery.

WHY INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE DOES NOT WANT STATE POLICE

Nigeria's Acting Inspector general of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), said Nigeria is not yet ripe for state police in spite of the renewed agitations for it.
 
Speaking with newsmen in Kaduna shortly after a meeting with Kaduna stakeholders on security, the acting IGP dismissed the clamour for the establishment of state police, in his words, 
“You could imagine if we have a political situation, if you have a state commissioner of police controlled by the state itself”.


“What we are trying to do is going back to the drawing board, I won’t tell you what I’m doing in terms of training and strategies and methodology of fighting crime and that is why we have to come out to see things for ourselves and be able to re-plan ahead of time.

“We are doing so much and there are differences even in changing of tactics, unlike before. We are doing so much now, particularly on intelligence information. Let me also thank Nigerians in this regard because we have seen serious level of improvement in terms of reportage, in terms of giving information about crime and criminality, people have helped us in doing what we are doing”, he said. 

He described as disturbing the casualty figures of policemen who lost their lives in the wake of the Boko Haram Islamic sect’s attacks on security personnel and bombings in northern parts of the country, noting that the figures of victims are still being computed by the authorities.

According to him, crisis is not a thing that the police and the citizens plan for or expect, stressing that five years ago nobody expected that Nigeria would be facing the problem of suicide bombings in any part of the country.

CLASH OVER A PROSTITUE LEAVES 3 DEAD AND PROPERTIES WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA DESTROYED!

In what inhabitants tagged a Hausa and Yoruba clash in Ibese, Yewa North Local Government of Ogun State on Wednesday three lives and left properties worth millions of Naira burnt or vandalised.

The clash started on Wednesday night following a disagreement between two unidentified men over a prostitute...it escalated and later took an ethnic dimension with about bout 25 articulated vehicles, three cars and five motorcycles were said to have been destroyed in the violence. Also, almost all the shops in the nearby market were reportedly looted.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident, but said no one was killed. Adejobi, an assistant superintendent of police however said the violence in the town had nothing to do with ethnicity.

He said,

“It was caused by a prostitute and some of the drivers had a problem with some men who claimed to be Ibese indigenes. There was no ethnic colouration. There was no casualty and only 14 vehicles were burnt.”

Residents of the busy town were said to have fled the community.

Armed policemen were deployed in the troubled town to forestall further break down of law and order while an Armoured Personnel Carrier was seen stationed in front of the Dangote Cement Factory located within the community.

The Chairman of the task force in the affected market, Sikirulah Akinsola, confirmed to newsmen that the violence erupted due to a disagreement between two persons over a commercial sex worker.

Akinsola, who is also the Bada Orile of Ijako Village, a suburb of the town, said more than 200 persons of Yoruba extraction who felt aggrieved by the alleged killing of their kinsman had decided to demonstrate on the streets when the crisis erupted.

According to him, one Kehinde had also allegedly been killed last May by a suspected Hausa man in the town...We pray this kind of destruction does not repeat itself again...over a prostitute for that matter.

On July 9th 2012, when the safety net the FBI set up to redirect traffic from infected servers due to a virus, DNSChanger, that once infected approximately 4 million computers across the world...once this happens, except you are equiped enough to remove it manually from your computer you may lose access to the internet.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation first gave details about the virus last November 2011, when it announced the arrest of the malware’s authors. The virus, as its name indicates, affected computers’ abilities to correctly access the Internet’s DNS system — essentially, the Internet’s phone book. The virus would redirect Internet users to fake DNS servers, often sending them to fake sites or places that promoted fake products. Once the FBI shut down the operation, it built a safety net of new servers to redirect traffic from those infected with the virus.

To see if you have the virus, you can head to any number of checker Web sites such as the DNS Changer Working Group or theFBI itself to either enter your IP address or simply click a button to run a check against addresses known to have problems. With any luck, you’ll be free and clear and won’t have to worry about the problem any further.

If you are infected with the virus, then you’ve got a longer — but not impossible — process ahead of you. According to the DCWG, those infected with the virus should first back up any important files. You can do that fairly easily with an external hard drive or even a thumb drive.

From there, you can run one of several trusted tools to get rid of the virus. Again, the DCWG has a list of them on its site, which includes programs such as Microsoft Windows Defender Off line, Norton Power Eraser and MacScan, all of which have updated their definitions to include this particular virus.

Scanning your computer regularly for viruses is a good idea anyway, to make sure that your virus definitions are up-to-date. So even if you’ve scanned in the past few months, take this opportunity to run a check and avoid your own personal doomsday.

LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC BASKETBALL QUALIFIER - NIGERIA MAKES A SURPRISE QUARTER FINAL QUALIFICATION!

12 national teams are competing for the three slots at the OLYMPIC qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The three qualifiers would join the nine countries that had already qualified for the 12-nations Men’s Basketball Olympic Games at the 2012 Olympic.

Nigeria's Male Basketball team D’Tigers in group B, on Wednesday defeated fifth ranked Lithuania 86-80, but had earlier lost its first match 69-71 to host country Venezuela. D’Tigers, the male’s national team, would on Friday meet Greece in the quarterfinals to get to the semifinals.

Nigeria and Angola were the only two African countries qualified from Africa for the world qualifiers which began on July 2 and scheduled to end on July 8.

Alabi Adelanwa, a former National Player, expressed confidence that D’Tigers would not only qualified for the Olympics, but would also be a team to watch at the Games if they eventually qualified.

“I am very positive about our qualification because our boys had gone through adequate training and friendly matches,” Adelanwa said.

ARSENAL POSTPONES TRIP TO NIGERIA!

Arsenal's announced the postponement of the team's trip to Nigeria!


Arsenal's marketing director Angus Kinnear said in a statement: 

"Bringing a top-level club to an international market is always complicated and logistically challenging.

"With the proposed match in Nigeria planned for early August, we could not get comfortable on everything needed to satisfy our requirements, so we have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the team's visit."

Kinnear continued: 

"We have a huge and loyal following in Africa, and we are sorry that the team will not be visiting this summer.

"However, we have a long-term commitment to Nigeria and we are already making plans for a visit next summer.

"In addition, we also have some exciting forthcoming activities planned with our commercial partners in Nigeria - Emirates, Airtel and Malta Guinness, which will kick off in the next few weeks."

Arsenal are set to tour Asia later this month, with a fixture against Manchester City set for Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium on July 27.

But now, she is celebrating a personal victory after rapper 50 Cent took heed of her plea and agreed to remove a series of offensive posts from Twitter.

Holly who used to star in “21 Jump Street”, whose eldest son Rodney, Jr. is autistic, was furious when she heard that the hip-hop mogul had insulted a rude Twitter follower on Monday night by telling him he looked autistic, and she leaped into action and wrote an open letter to 50 Cent, asking him to stop using such hurtful language.

Holly Peete wrote to 50cent saying:

“When I read it my heart sank. I thought maybe your account had been hacked. No such luck. Granted, his comment was completely out of line but your retort: ‘i just saw your picture fool you look autistic’- was so so disappointing. I mean, that’s your comeback??

“And you didn’t stop there. You went on to joke about not wanting ‘special ed kids’ on your timeline. Seriously, THIS is how you use your platform of 8 million plus followers??”
