NIGERIAN NAIRA CONTINUES TO FALL - HITS 5 AND HALF MONTH LOW AGAINST THE DOLLAR
.jpg)
Nigeria's naira extended losses against the U.S. dollar on the interbank market on Tuesday, weakening to a 5-1/2 month low as foreign investors continued to sell off government bonds.
The unit traded at 162.56 naira to the dollar on Tuesday, after it touched an intra-day low of 162.75 naira. It closed 161.25 naira against the dollar the previous day.
The naira has been falling in recent weeks, despite interventions by the central bank meant to stabalise it, as dollar demand has mounted from fuel importers and foreign investors selling off bonds and repatriating their returns.
The central bank has directly sold dollars in the interbank market since last week, outside its bi-weekly foreign exchange auction, to calm the market, but it has so far not succeeded.

WITH WAYNE ROONEY OUT OF THE TWO OPENING EURO2012 GAMES, THERE'S LITTLE HE CAN DO TO HELP TEAM QUALIFY FOR NEXT ROUND!
 |
| The Red Card that caused the problem |
With Manchester United out of England's two opening EURO2012 games, the three lions will have to succeed without him, because if England loses the first two games they are very likely out of the competition, so a Wayne Rooney presence in the final group match might be insignificant.
Though the team's radiating a readiness for the matches, for a team that's lost some of their critical players to injury and some still being watched - the Rooney blow might be tougher than team's saying.

RIO FERDINAND 'LIKELY' DROPPED FROM ENGLAND'S EURO2012 SQUAD FOR HIS ABILITY TO CAUSE DISUNITY IN TEAM
I think i now get why Rio Ferdinand was dropped from the English team.
Why would a sane (self confessed) leader utter this?
"Lampard, Terry, Barry, Gerrard: all ageing but they go to the tournament. Why is Rio different? To treat a player that has captained and served his country 81 times is nothing short of disgraceful. Total lack of respect from Hodgson and the FA as far as I am concerned."
Really, what does Rio think national service's all about? Brother, the only reason you and Joey Barton are missing from the team list's more because of your attitude rather than your skills.
Wale Yemi.

THE EXPERIMENTAL DRUG THAT OFFERS CANCER PATIENTS A NEW KIND OF HOPE, T - DM1.
Trastuzumab emtansine, commonly referred to as T-DM1, appears to be superior to the standard treatment for women with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer. Researchers are presenting the results of a large three-year clinical trial Sunday at the 2012 American Society of Clinical Oncology conference in Chicago. It's a combination of the targeted drug trastuzumab (the "T" in T-DM1), better known by the brand name Herceptin, and a very powerful chemotherapy drug called emtansine (the "DM1" part). The drug is designed to work when Herceptin alone no longer can keep the cancer in check. "It's a brand new way of treating HER2-positive breast cancer," said the lead study author, Dr. Kimberly Blackwell. "This will offer a very important therapeutic option for patients faced with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer."
