United Nations Gets 1st Female Secretary General She is Senator Leila de Lima

The United nations set up since 1945 now has a female secretary general she is serving Filipino Senator, Leila de Lima. She has been elected as the new United Nations Secretary-General to replace Ban Ki-moon as his term comes to an end. Ban ki-moon had pleaded for his successor to be a woman days ago.
In his words, “it’s high time now for women should be “given equal opportunities... many distinguished, motivated women leaders who can really change this world, who can actively engage with the other leaders of the world.”
She beat 10 others. 4 of who were females.
