According to the Nigerian army Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau and his top militants have been "fatally wounded" in an air strike targeting a meeting of the
Islamist group's commanders. According to the airforce,
Shekau and other senior militants had gathered for prayers on Friday
when they were hit by "air force raids".
Those killed are
Abubakar Mubi, Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman, while Shekau is
"believed to be fatally wounded on his shoulders".
