Nigerian Olympian/Silver Medal Winner Acquitted For Beating A Man To Death in 2009 Sentenced to 25-Years in Prison For Killing a Woman in 2011
Former Olympic Athlete Ambrose Monye along with fellow suspect Andre Gouws have been sentenced to 25-years in prison each in connection with the murder of Chanelle Henning who died after being shot in a drive-by shooting on November 8, 2011 after dropping her 4-year-old son off at his primary school. The two-time silver-medal winner was acquitted of murder after beating a man to death in 2009. But In 2011, he was arrested in connection with the murder of a young South African woman, Chanelle Henning.

Henning was allegedly gunned down on the order of her ex-husband after she dropped her son off at school. Monye (whom police also suspect of being a drug dealer) is being held without bail and charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
