President Goodluck Jonathan has granted state pardon to some convicted notable figures and the name generating the most controversy is Ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreiye Alamieyeseigha who was convicted for looting state funds! Seven others, purportedly on the advice of the Council of State which is comprised of the President, Vice President, all state Governors, all living former presidents, Chief Justice of the Federation, the Senate President and speaker amongst others. The full list of those granted pardon:

2. Former Chief of General Staff, Oladipo Diya
3. Former Chief of Staff Supreme Military Council, and brother of the late President, late Major General Shehu Musa Yar'adua
4. Major Bello Magaji NA/6604
5. Mohammed Lima Biu
6. Shettima Bulama, ex-convicted banker
7. Major Geeneral Abdulkareem Adisa (Post Humous)
8. Major Segun Fadipe
