| New Miss Worl Yu Wenxia of China |
Yu Wenxia, the reighning Miss China has been crowned as the new Miss WORLD 2012. A total of 116 contestants – the highest number ever – took to the stage during the contest. When she was asked why she thought she would win the Miss World title, prior to being crowned, Yu said:
"When I was young I felt very lucky because so many people helped me, and I hope in the future I can help more children to feel lucky."
