Led by a dismissed Mobile Police Constable, dismissed in 2007, the kidnappers of Nkiru Sylvanus, Kenneth and Uche Okoli are as follows:
Ndidi Cletus, 30, also known as Matthew Ofurum a dismissed Mobile Police constable;
Stanley Asouna; Aminu Musa, 40, a cattle
trader and battery charger from Taraba State; Muhammed Abubakar, 34, a cattle
rearer from Nasarawa State; Obinna Okwolisa a trader and Keke NAPEP
operator and Samson
Onwuka.
The gang members admitted carrying out several other
kidnap operations getting ransom payments of N1.9 million, N3 million
and N1.5 respectively.
Nkiru Silvanus and two others were kidnapped
at Nworie Street, Akanchawa roundabout area of the state by three
gunmen, and kept in the bush around Avu junction for six days, but later released on December 21, 2012, after payment of N8 million ransom.
